Child's First Visit

Abbotsford Children's Dentistry and all dental organizations recommend that all children be seen for an oral examination by the age of one. This is an ideal time to examine the development of your child’s mouth. Dental problems can begin at a very early age, and a visit to the dentist can give parents the information they need to care for their child’s mouth.
The first visit is an introduction to our office for parent and child. Often we have the parent and child participate in a knee-to-knee exam where the child sits in his or her parent’s lap and leans back into the lap of the dentist for examination. This ensures the comfort of being in their parent’s lap, and having eye contact throughout.
